We understand that many companies are faced with financial difficulties in the current climate, making supporting an individual with an Additional Learning Need (ALN) the least of their priorities. This is the gap that Develop Us aims to address by helping organisations to support individuals with disabilities by providing dyslexia coaching and workplace mentoring for those with additional learning needs.
Growing awareness of ALN, with a focus on dyslexia and autism, can be particularly effective for changing the attitudes of employers. Our workplace mentoring campaigns and support raise awareness of how individuals with ALN can benefit a business with specialised and focused support from employers.
The responsibilities of Develop Us is to assess the needs of people with diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions and to identify how they can be supported in the workplace. Develop Us oﬀer a variety of services to assist employers willing to provide support within the workplace environment, thereby ensuring they meet employers’ responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010. Workplace Needs Assessment
A workplace needs assessment is an impartial assessment in the form of a semi‐formal interview carried out in the workplace by a qualified and experienced dyslexia specialist. It is Its purpose is to identify specific needs arising from dyslexia and offer solutions to the difficulties experienced by the employee in carrying out their job role.
