A diagnostic dyslexia assessment is the only way that dyslexia can be formally identified. The dyslexia test will be carried out by a specialist teacher/assessor who holds a current Assessing Practicing Certificate (APC). Our assessors are holders of the Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and relevant insurance.
The dyslexia assessment involves completing a series of short activities surrounding pictures, words and sounds, the dyslexia test usually takes around 3 hours.
This assessment will also provide a clearer picture of your cognitive profile strengths and areas for improvement. This will ensure that any support put in place is as effective as possible.
Following your dyslexia assessment, you will receive a personal assessment report, approximately 25 pages long, divided into the following sections:
- Summary of findings
- Background history
- Underlying Ability
- Attainments in English (and maths if required)
- Cognitive Processing Skills
- Practical Recommendations
- Technical Appendix (Contains numerical scores, graph and glossary)
We believe in supplying the highest possible quality assessment service and report and take every step to ensure the report contains the most relevant information for your personal situation. The report is easy to read and provides accurate detailed information about your learning profile.
To ensure the report is thorough and accurate, we take up to three weeks to complete it. This can be quicker at quieter times of the year. Please contact us if you need your report sooner.
Dyslexia assessment fee: £400 (all-inclusive). If we come to you, we may charge a little extra for travel, but we will discuss this with you during the booking process.
