If you are a university student or planning to go to university and you require evidence for a Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) application, then we can provide an Evaluation of Needs remote assessment which will be accepted by the Student Loans Company (SLC).
The Department of Education has confirmed that they are intending to extend acceptance of remote Evaluations of Need as evidence supporting applications for DSA up to and including 31 March 2021.
To avoid a delay in you being able to access the support you need through DSA, the SLC has decided that DSA applicants, who do not already have a full diagnostic assessment for Specific Learning Difficulties, will temporarily be able to submit an Evaluation of Need and that this will be accepted as evidence of eligibility for DSA by the SLC.
An Evaluation of Need report will provide results of your current attainment needs. This will include recommendations for reasonable adjustments, including examination arrangements. This will not include a diagnosis of a specific learning difficulty.
The cost for an Evaluation of Need assessment is £300.
