Our Learning Profile Screening service will identify your strengths and areas for improvement in cases where a diagnosis of a Specific Learning Difficulty is not required. It can also be used as a screening tool for risk factors for dyslexia and/or other Specific Learning Difficulties. This learning profile assessment can measure your progress following specialist tuition. The learning profile screener will assess the main cognitive skills for learning:
- Underlying ability (learning potential)
- Attainments in English (writing and spelling) or maths
- Cognitive processing skills (memory, processing speed and awareness of speech sounds in language)
- Writing speed, neatness or graphic speed
- Any other features consistent with co-occurring SpLDs
You will be provided with a short, easy to read report and oral recommendations for teachers/SENCOs, within three weeks of your learning profile test. This can be quicker at quieter times of the year. Please contact us if you need your report sooner. The report is briefer than a full Diagnostic Assessment report, whilst still containing the essential, technical information and individual, practical recommendations for teachers and parents/carers.
What if I book a Learning Profile Test and then want a Diagnostic Assessment?
We offer a ‘top-up’ service for our assessments. If an Exam Concessions, Screening or Learning Profile Assessment is booked, we are happy to perform the additional assessments to build a diagnosis, if the request is made within three months of the initial assessment. The total cost of the two assessments is no more than the price of a diagnostic assessment.
Assessment fee: Learning profile screeners tests are £250 per individual (all-inclusive). If we come to you, we may charge a little extra for travel, but we will discuss this with you during the booking process.
